Dr. Yiftach Golov:
From Post-Doc to Post-Trauma
A multidisciplinary scientist, IDF wounded veteran, and researcher of rehabilitation and resilience models that reflect the scientific foundations and core essence of Certainty Lab — empowerment through the leveraging of certainty.
Dr. Yiftach Golov is a multidisciplinary scientist and biophysicist specializing in chemo-sensing and biological flows. His research has illuminated complex systems spanning biological flows, neuroethology, sensory ecology, applied nanochemistry, computational biology, and data science.
Dr. Golov’s PhD dissertation (2024) was submitted through an academic excellence track requiring three peer-reviewed publications, resulting in three new papers in leading scientific journals. His work has received awards in international and Israeli conferences, earned global publications in top-tier journals, and achieved broad academic recognition. He lectures in various forums on science, philosophy, and technology.
Following a physical injury and PTSD from his IDF service, Dr. Golov expanded his scientific focus into the realms of resilience and rehabilitation, driven by a desire to understand—both theoretically and practically—which processes enable a person to rebuild movement, meaning, and functional capacity.
As a scientist and an IDF wounded veteran, Dr. Golov identified the common denominator linking his scientific research and his personal lived experience: the existential need for conditions of certainty. This principle—both personal and professional—naturally aligns with Certainty Lab’s approach: leveraging certainty by connecting deep science, complex systems, human behavior, and applied solutions.
Through this lens, an ongoing dialogue emerges between lived experience in the field and the development of precise AI methodologies—a dialogue Dr. Golov leads as part of the scientific core of the company.
He explores the field through personal and practical experience, combined with scientific learning and research, across several complementary tracks:
Creative-Emotional Models: SOUL — Music as Rehabilitation
Dr. Golov participates in the SOUL musical-rehabilitation program, examining how musical learning, rhythm, creation, and community influence emotional regulation, anxiety, and belonging. Insights from this work are integrated into Certainty Lab’s scientific-behavioral thinking.
Action-Based Models & Professional Identity:
“Entrepreneurship as a Mental Startup for Rehabilitation & Empowerment” A unique program initiated by Dr. Golov together with Certainty Lab, in collaboration with Reichman University and the FORE Institute.
The core idea is the use of entrepreneurship as a structured rehabilitation pathway. Dr. Golov examines how entrepreneurial processes—decision-making, product development, and belonging to a professional framework—strengthen agency, continuity, and identity, and how these principles can inform AI systems that support human transformation.
Medical-Neural Models: SGB (Stellate Ganglion Block)
Dr. Golov is also soon to be undergoing SGB treatment—a sympathetic nerve block using a local anesthetic to reduce PTSD symptoms. He explores how this “physical quiet” influences healing stages, PTSD symptomatology, and the integration of emotional-process therapies such as psychotherapy, enriching the understanding of the rehabilitative context within existing models.
Movement-Based Models: Sports as Rehabilitation
As an active swimmer at Beit HaLochem Tel Aviv and someone who maintains an athletic lifestyle, Dr. Golov studies how structured movement, endurance, and physical discipline contribute to resilience, regulation, and psychological stability—through system-level processes that can be mapped and translated into actionable insights and applied models.
Complementary Applications & Projects — in Collaboration with Certainty Lab
Dr. Golov is also involved in applied initiatives, including:
• 8FOR8 – sports-based rehabilitation for IDF wounded veterans
• Adaptive sports equipment for veterans – a project based on needs-mapping and development of solutions using an AI system designed at Certainty Lab under his guidance.
Across each of these channels, Dr. Golov examines how biological, neural, behavioral, and community systems create movement, resilience, and the capacity to rebuild life after injury. This inquiry directly feeds into the precise methods, models, and tools developed by Certainty Lab—merging deep science with lived human experience.
This is a path shaped by Yiftach himself—a pathway for generating certainty: where research, technology, application, experience, and personal example meet.
Like a human-technological test tube, these components synthesize together, as in a chemical reaction, into the development of AI solutions that offer comprehensive and precise responses to human challenges.
